A Photographers

Journey

Through my lens, I get to capture the emotions, milestones, and quiet moments that parents will hold onto forever. Here’s what this journey looks like from behind the camera.

The Joys of Finding Out You Are Expecting

When a client first reaches out after learning they are expecting, there’s a glow in their words before I ever see it in their smile. I can feel the excitement and nervous joy through the phone or in their messages. Photographing this stage is about capturing that quiet, private happiness, the “just us” moment before the world knows.

Telling Your Friends and Family

One of my favorite aspects of maternity photography is being part of the announcement. Sometimes I’m behind the camera as parents hold tiny shoes, letterboards, or ultrasound photos for the first time to share their news with the world. Through my lens, I witness love multiply, tears, laughter, and the joy that radiates from everyone who hears the news.

Making Your House a Home

As months pass, parents start to prepare their world for the little one they’re about to meet. I’ve captured soft, intimate sessions in nurseries, rocking chairs ready, walls painted with love, and shelves lined with storybooks. Photographing this stage means freezing the anticipation in their home before tiny feet ever touch the floor.

The Miracle of a Growing Life

This is where the magic truly unfolds. Through my lens, I see the way a mother’s hand rests protectively on her belly, the way she instinctively sways as if already comforting her baby. Every kick and hiccup brings a new layer of emotion to her smile. Ultrasound photos are one of my favorite props; they’re not just pictures; they’re the first chapter of a life story I get to capture.

The Joys of Welcoming Your Child Into the World

Eventually, I get the honor of seeing this journey come full circle, those first photos with a newborn in the arms of the parents I’ve watched grow into this role. The air in the room is always thick with love and relief, and every image feels like the closing page of one chapter and the opening of another.

Through the lens, maternity photography isn’t just about documenting a pregnancy; it’s about capturing a family’s love story as it begins. Every click of the camera is a promise: This moment, this feeling, this chapter—you will never forget it.
